The family is an old one and emigrated from their ancestral home at Landrecie in the north of France. Taylor Crum

Taylor Crum, born in Candor, New York, in 1850, is a distinguished lawyer in Fargo, North Dakota. Of German, Scotch, and Irish descent, he graduated with honors from the State Normal School in Oswego and the University of Rochester. Crum moved to Fargo in 1881, initially serving as the principal of Fargo schools before starting his law practice in 1884. Renowned for his dedication to clients, he has a wide-ranging clientele. A Republican and noted orator, Crum has been active in politics. He was married to Helen Bixby, and they had four children, three of whom survived: Solon, Paul, and Leon.
