Forman, established in 1883 by Colonel Cornelius H. Forman, is located in Sargent County, North Dakota. Originally part of Ransom County, the area transformed from open range to productive farmland, with significant cultivation commencing in 1884. The arrival of the Soo Line Railroad in 1887 further enhanced its significance as a market hub.
